40 Days of Miracles
The Villeurbanne Ward decided to have a 40-day fast for missionary work as the culminating event in the re-alignment of missions in France and the moving of the mission headquarters to Lyon. We have gone from an occasional small miracle to seeing miracles almost every day. Everything from having sight restored to the blind, to healing the sick and the lame, to people getting job interviews, when they have been looking for work for a year, to tremendous amounts of rainfall after one of the most severe droughts this part of France has ever known, and many more. But the really important miracles are those occurring in the hearts of the people when they turn their lives over to their Savior and Redeemer. Old habits are cast off, hearts are softened, and there is truly a spiritual rebirth. We are so grateful to be a witness to the many miracles that are taking place at this time. To quote President Ezra Taft Benson, "We LOVE this work, and it IS work!"
